OUR PROGRAMS

Headstart's qualified Lead Educators and Early Childhood Teacher design learning and play programs that target individual children's needs, abilities and interests. These programs operate all year round and cover a wide array of topics.



In the Mixed Age Room, babies and toddlers will experience wonderful social, physical and cognitive play designed to enhance and build their interaction skills, fine and gross motor skills, coordination, problem solving abilities, creativity, langauge skills, confidence, and self-help skills. Children will be surrounded by nurturing educators and new friends to share their expereinces with.

In the Kindy Room, kindergarten and pre-prep children will be introduced to greater learning that challenges their abilities and broadens their understanding through art, literature, science, mathematics, physical education, community awareness, environmental awareness and gardening, music, cooking, role play, and culture.

The pre-prep children will also participate in the Kindergarten Program. The Kindergarten Program in a part of the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Programs designed to prepare child for their entrance into Prep. Headstart uses planned teaching and supported learning expereinces to help develop children's language, literacy and numeracy knowledge, social skills, emotional maturity, problem solving and thinking abilities, confidence, and self-awareness. We develop children's abilities and help prepare them for Prep through a world of carefully planned and supported expereinces. The children will participate in teacher-led and child-initiated activities through a range of play and real-life learning. All of this builds a child's interest and enthusiasm for learning and prepares them with all the skills requires to successfully enter Prep, and for their future.
